The Florida Panthers announced today the team has assigned forward MacKenzie Entwistle to the Checkers after he cleared NHL waivers.

Entwistle, 27, registered 12 points (five goals, seven assists) in 49 games with Charlotte last season. The Georgetown, ON, native is in the final year of a two-year, two-way contract he signed with Florida in July 2025.

He has played 136 AHL games for the Rockford IceHogs and the Checkers, scoring 21 goals and adding 32 assists, along with 103 penalty minutes. In addition, Entwistle has suited up for 194 NHL contests with the Chicago Blackhawks, recording 35 points (15 goals, 20 assists) and 86 PIMs.

Entwistle was originally drafted in the third round (69th overall) of the 2017 Entry Draft by the Arizona Coyotes.
