The Checkers have unveiled new home and road uniforms for the 2013-14 season, which are based on the new look earlier presented by their NHL affiliate, the Carolina Hurricanes.

Those who have seen
the Hurricanes’ new uniforms will recognize several key changes to the overall design. Specifically, those include the removal of the hurricane warning flag strip across the bottom of both jerseys, the new font for letters and numbers and a distinct look between the home red and road white uniforms. Like the Hurricanes, the Checkers have not changed their primary colors or logo.
While the two teams’ uniforms will again be similar, there are a handful of differences between them, which are outlined and demonstrated below.
A pre-sale of new Checkers jerseys will begin June 30, with adult jerseys priced at $120 and youth at $99. Personalization will also be available and jerseys will be delivered on the last week of September. Additionally, the team is holding a special 2012-13 game-worn jersey sale, which is the last opportunity for fans to get their hands on authentic, game-worn jerseys from the inaugural AHL era.
Striping on Red Jerseys
The Checkers’ red jerseys feature a black stripe underneath a white stripe across the bottoms of the jerseys, sleeves and socks. Carolina’s uniforms use two white stripes.
Shoulder Patches
Charlotte’s jerseys will again feature the Hurricanes’ primary logo on the shoulders of both jerseys. Carolina’s jerseys do not have shoulder patches.
Neck Lacing
The neck lacing introduced on Carolina’s home red jerseys will be used on Charlotte’s home and road jerseys.
Logo Finish
The Checkers’ jerseys will retain the metallic finish on and underneath the primary logo crest. Carolina switched to a matte finish for their new jerseys.
Neckline Flag
Carolina’s jerseys preserved the warning flag pattern on the inside collar of their jerseys. Charlotte’s jerseys do not include this feature.
